Redmi X will have different final Name confirmed by Redmi GM

Lately, a teaser poster of the upcoming Redmi Snapdragon 855 flagship surfaced on Weibo (Chinese Famous Social Media) with the device bearing the moniker “Redmi X”. The poster also indicated that the device will make a big appearance on May 14.

Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing has now affirmed through Weibo that it won’t be called Redmi X. 

As it very well may be seen on the screenshot of Lu Weibing’s Weibo post above, he stated, “Not called Redmi X, there will be a better name.” While the organization has been prodding the Redmi SD855 telephone since the past couple of months, it creates the impression that it may not be launched so soon. The May 14 launch date may as well be fake as there is still no official announcement about the launch date.

However, there are rumors that the upcoming Redmi phone with notch-less display and pop-up selfie camera could be fueled by Snapdragon 730. It could be arriving as a lighter version of the Redmi SD855 phone that may debut later. I don't believe that much on rumors, as I do believe more about leaks.
