The Xiaomi exec clarified that the Mi Watch strap can be replaced but it has to be with a matching strap of the same size. He advised against using unofficial metal straps or other types of straps, as other features of the watch (communication, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) may malfunction due to mismatch. Finally, on support for iOS, he disclosed that iOS users can temporarily download the Wear OS app binding device through the App Store. However, functions such as NFC, which is dependent on Xiaomi’s app, and management of sports health data won’t be available for now.
