Redmi Note 8 Pro Snapdragon 730G edition does not exist, reveals Lu Weibing
Recently, a Xiaomi phone with model numbers M1912G7GBE/C was certified by the 3C authority of China. A leakster had claimed that it is an upgraded version of the Redmi Note 8 Pro featuring the Snapdragon 730G chipset. Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing has debunked the rumors by giving a negative response on its existence.
A Weibo user asked whether an advanced version of the Redmi Note 8 Pro featuring Snapdragon 730G, 27W fast charging and in-display fingerprint reader exist. Lu Weibing replied by saying no.
So, the identity of the M1912G7GBE/C remains a mystery. It seems to be a high-end phone since the 3C certification revealed that it could be shipped with a 27W fast charger. In addition, there is another upcoming 5G phone that has a model number of M1911U2E. The device has only bagged approval from the National Radio Authority in China through which it was confirmed that it is a 5G device. It is yet to receive 3C certification. Since it is a 5G phone, it is being speculated that it could be the upcoming Redmi K30 5G phone. However, it is advisable to wait for newer reports before confirming on it.
Author’s take: Looks like there are many people who prefer Qualcomm Snapdragon processor rather than MediaTek.
